Listen! In black culture meatballs are served for every event! Babyshowers, weddings, birthdays, no matter the occasion we gone have some meatballs! So I had to share a meatball recipe that'll make sure you're the talk of the party!

Now let me tell you how sure I am that this is THAT recipe!

So in June, I threw my husband a surprise party and there was a couple in attendance that we didn’t know but the wife came up to me and was like “oh you're Quanda ! Omg all I keep hearing about is ‘Quandas Meatballs’ I have to try these meatballs!” 😂😂

I couldn't believe my meatballs had preceded me lol but when I say my sauce is the real deal. Its the real deal! And now I'm sharing it with you! Now let me warn you, every event your people will be calling you to make the meatballs after this. Just accept it now that you are officially the designated meatball maker!

Frozen meatballs will work out perfectly for this.

Do not over season meat, the sauce will add all the flavor!

Homemade Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey/Beef (or bag of frozen meatballs)

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

BBQ Sauce

  • 1 20 oz can Dole Pineapple Chunks

  • 1 18 oz can Sweet Baby Rays Hawaiian Style BBQ Sauce (this is the KEY, but any bbq sauce will do)

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey


*If using frozen meatballs you can skip meatball prep steps*

Prepping Meatballs

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. In a large bowl add ground meat.

  3. Then add in all remaining ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not over mix or meat will become mushy.

  4. Shape meatballs to your desired size and align on baking sheet.

  5. Bake meatballs for 20 mins. You Check center of a couple meatballs for doneness.

Preparing BBQ sauce

  1. Preheat crock pot to low heat.

  2. Drain juice from pineapples in small bowl. Set pineapple chunks and juice aside.

  3. In a medium bowl add all sauce ingredients (including pineapple juice). Mix until well combined

  4. Add cooked/frozen meatballs to crock pot.

  5. Pour sauce all over meatballs

  6. Mix everything together until meatballs are fully covered in sauce.

  7. Meatballs can simmer on low for up to 8 hours and on high for up to 4 hours.

  8. Add pineapple chunks to crock pot about 10-15 minutes before serving.

  9. Enjoy! :)
