These delicious shells are stuffed with a creamy taco meat mixture and topped with white queso and pico de gallo! Perfect for a Taco Tuesday night!


Now depending on which size tortillas you get that’ll let you know how many you can eat. Regular sized shells turn out pretty big so 2 per person would definitely be enough! Unless you have a husband or kids who can eat eat lol


 

Stuffed Taco Shells Recipe




Ingredients:⠀

  • Pack of Flour Tortillas

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 cup salsa⠀

  • 1 cup shredded cheese

  • 1/2 cup water⠀

  • 1/2 cup onion⠀

  • 1/2 cup green pepper⠀⠀

  • 1 packet taco seasoning⠀

  • 6 oz cream cheese⠀

  • Seasonings (adobo & cumin) ⠀

  • 3 garlic cloves minced

  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 3 tablespoons water

Directions:

Preparing Meat Mixture

  1. Place meat in skillet and brown over medium heat. Once no more pink is left remove meat and drain.⠀

  2. In same pan, heat oil. Then add in onions & peppers. Saute about 5 mins. ⠀

  3. Add garlic & saute 1 additional minute.

  4. Add drained meat to pan with veggies & mix to combine.⠀

  5. Add taco seasoning and water. Mix well.

  6. Lightly season meat with adobo and cumin. Mix to combine.

  7. Let meat simmer on med low heat for about 5 mins.⠀

  8. Remove from heat and add meat to a bowl.⠀

  9. Add cream cheese and salsa to bowl and mix.⠀

Preparing Stuffed Shells

  1. Heat deep fryer to 350. ⠀

  2. Combine water and flour in small bowl (used to ensure shells stay closed)⠀

  3. Cut tortilla in half. ⠀

  4. Fold in one half of shell. Add water mix along sides. Fold other side in until triangle shaped.⠀

  5. Stuff shell with meat mix and cheese.⠀

  6. Brush water mix along edge. Seal with fork. ⠀

  7. Press along edges to make sure shell is secure. ⠀

  8. Add tortillas to deep fryer and fry for 2-3 mins or until golden brown.⠀

  9. Serve with Sour Cream and Pico de Gallo

  10. Enjoy!
