Easy Hibachi Fried Rice

I love hibachi rice! With everything still being shut down due to Covid I decide to finally give it a try at home. It turned out amazing! I made it almost the whole week lol first with chicken teriyaki and then I made it again with steak teriyaki and just typing it is making me want both meals again (*drool emoji*). But hibachi fried rice is so easy to make at home! You’ll be binge eating it like I did lol

Add in mixed vegetables if you’d like
Chicken, steak and shrimp can also be added to this recipe.
Please use COLD rice. Best prepared the day before or a few hours before you need it.
Fresh cooked rice will not fry properly.
Easy Hibachi Fried Rice Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups jasmine or white rice cooked and cooled
2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp sesame oil
1 large eggs
1/2 onion diced
1 bag frozen mix vegetables (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cooking Rice
Bring to cups water to a boil.
Pour in rice.
Reduce heat to low and let rice simmer for 15 mins. Do Not lift lid.
When rice is done, add to a bowl and place in refrigerator to cool.
Preparing Fried Rice
Heat 1 tbsp butter in wok or skillet
Add in egg and scramble.
Remove and add in another 1 tbsp butter.
Add in diced onions and sauté until softened. (3-4 mins)
Add in sesame oil
Then add in cold rice and toss with onions.
Flatten rice into thin layer and allow to sizzle. (30 seconds)
Add in soy sauce and toss until all rice is covered.
Toss in scrambled eggs.
Sizzle rice another minute then serve!
Serve with my homemade yum yum sauce!
